PrinLab participates at the Oamk’s Northern Responsible Food webinar

Our partner Harri Määttä (from PrinLab – Development Laboratory for Printed Intelligence) presented the outcomes of Seafood-Age project during the introduction to printed electronics as part of a panel discussion in an OAMK’s webinar at 5.11.2021.

1st tasting trial event with potential consumers (people >65)

In the framework of SEAFOOD-AGE project WP3, CETMAR organised a tasting trial event with potential consumers (people >65) in Ourense (Spain), to explore elderly eating acceptance towards innovative RTE seafood products.

To start with the activity, a nutrition for healthy ageing talk by a specialist from Universidade de Santiago de Compostela (NUTRIAGE project) was developed in order to encourage the participation in the trial, and also to raise awareness about healthy ageing.

Secondly, three recipes were presented with different SEAFOOD-AGE food products. With the help of a form and a focus group, information about their preferences was collected. Although results from the tasting trial is under revision yet, this activity proved to be of great help to better shape the product. Moreover, the activity had a great acceptance among participants, who were really excited to be part of this experience, to learn about this project and to taste this food for the first time.

Apart from project partners collaboration to elaborate the presented recipes (from ingredients to packaging), the associate partner Fundación Dorzán was key for the organization of this event.

Our partners from Oulu University of Applied Sciences (Oamk) participating at the Alihankinta Subcontracting Fair on 21st -23rd September

Finland’s leading industrial event Subcontracting and AlihankintaHEAT 2021 was organized for the first time after the pandemic gap year on September 21–23 2021. A total of 917 exhibitors from 16 countries and 7.460 visitors participated the event at Tampere Exhibition and Sports Centre.

The Subcontracting Trade Fair is an event where various innovations are exhibited, including products, services, production methods and processes, materials and components. The Subcontracting Trade Fair showcases the entire Finnish industry and its top companies. Annually there are hundreds of exhibitors from countries across the world and every year, over 2,000 innovations are presented.

Among the exhibitors, PrinLab – Development Laboratory for Printed Intelligence participated showing their experience in designing, manufacturing and test services to support R&D work. They took the opportunity to disseminate SEAFOOD-AGE project and show the Smart Predictive Label developed in the framework of this project.

SEAFOOD-AGE takes part in the Interreg Atlantic Area Annual Event 2020

The Interreg Atlantic Area programme annual event was held on the 18th November 2020, from 14:00 to 16:30 (Lisbon time)

Eva Balsa-Canto, as representative of SEAFOODAGE project, was invited by the Managing Authority to participate on a panel as a speaker, under the thematic ‘Sustainable food systems’. This session lasted 45 minutes, was moderated by Sandra Tavares da Silva and counted with the participation of 2 other projects. The goal of this session was to present the work and impact the projects are having on their field of action, thus contributing to the objectives of the EC in this matter, namely to achieve a sustainable transition to a climate-neutral Europe by 2050.

This event was due to take place in Bordeaux, hosted by the French Presidency of the Programme in 2020, but considering to the current situation and restrictions, it was for the first time, entirely online.

Our partner OUAS involved in Printed Intelligence industry seminar “PRINSE’20” in Oulu, Finland

SEAFOOD-AGE project has been presented at the PrinLab’s stand at the PRINSE’20, the Printed Intelligence Industry seminar that was in Oulu this week.

PRINSE’20 Printed Intelligence Industry seminar has covered topics including structural electronics, intelligent diagnostics and the emerging R2R manufacturing industry.

This inspiring international event has hosted 300 participants around the world, while offering an excellent setting for networking and matchmaking. More than 50 industrial companies were presented.

To facilitate collaboration with the top experts from industry leaders, there were also an interactive Innovation Market Place and company booths and demos.

Seafood-Age project promoted in the Business2Sea event

The Business2Sea yearly event was carried out in Porto between 11th and 13th of November. Its agenda offered as usual a broad variety of activities, including conference, workshops, pitch presentations, business-to-business meetings, exhibition area and gastronomic seafood experiences. In addition, this year’s edition hosted the 6th Atlantic Stakeholder Platform Conference and the Annual Event of the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme. The Portuguese Minister of the Sea, Mr. Ricardo Serrão Santos, was visiting the Business2Sea on Tuesday 12th.

CETMAR and IIM-CSIC played a relevant role in the organization and development of the event, and both organizations participated in all the proposed activities, including both stands in the exhibition area. The Seafood-Age was presented in a number of meetings and interviews and the project poster was displayed during the three days of the event.
