IPMA is a public research institute devoted to carry out research, technological development, innovation, services and activities on sea and atmosphere, including sustainable exploitation of marine resources as well as on production, upgrading and processing of high-quality seafood.

It has been involved in the development of several European and international projects related to seafood products in cooperation with a large team of researchers from universities and research institutions in Portugal and abroad.

IPMA will be focused on the production and characterization of bio-active functional ingredients based on FPH and fish oil. It will be also involved in training and in the lab-scale validation of the production of ingredients.
